today is a day of mourning - my friend's pet gerbil died last night - ok, so he didn't live in a magnificent palace looked after by a troupe of Polish virgins, and he didn't wear fabulously embroided dresses, or ride around in bullet-proof limousines - but hey, we're all equal in the sight of God, right?
